The Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent Foundation opened to the public on the 10th of March 2004. The goals of these foundation are various:

  • The conservation of the work of Yves Saint Laurent during 40 years: 5000 haute couture clothes and 15000 accessories, sketches and various objects.
  • The organization of exhibitions: the Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent foundation is not a museum, but organizes exhibitions about fashion, painting, photography and drawing. You will find here information about former, actual and future exhibitions.
  • Supporting cultural and educative actions: the foundation acts like a patron in the fields of art, literature, music and theater. It supports the IFM (Institut Français de la Mode/ in English, French Institute of Fashion) center of learning for fashion created by Pierre Bergé in 1986. In addition, it supports SOS Racisme (a French association that fights racism), SOS Homophobie (a French association that fights homophobia), and Sidaction (a French association to find solutions against aids).
